Yes, you heard right folks! Miss Drama was able to get a dance with a real, live boy! But guess what...it wasn't all that great. I bet you're asking me through a computer screen, "why are you writing about it then ?"
Oh do I have an answer for you! Because I don't mind complaining every once in a while, and come on! It's my first slow dance with a guy! I'm still a teenage girl.
Well, the things that made it not-so-great is (1) I asked him (I think I had too much ice-cream) and (2) I didn't even know him. I guess I asked him because, well he was cute, and also he was looking around the room like "now what?" Which was the same way I felt.
So we danced, and to my relief he looked happy when I asked. And even though he was already sweaty, it seemed as though he was sweating even more. Forgive the cliche, but like a horse. He was nervous, and couldn't really get his feet to go with the beat until I helped him. I guess the dance itself wasn't too bad, I wasn't my usual totally awkward self. I actually made conversation! Big shocker for ya. Score for silly, sarcastic drama queen, right?
And in case you were wondering, yes I'm getting butterflies thinking about it. Not that he was giving me butterflies, but just the thought of dancing with a guy gives me butterflies. Don't ask why, it's just one of those horribly intriguing mysteries of the world. That's just the kind of person I am, no judging.
So all in all, I suppose my first dance wasn't so bad. Of course I would have rather danced with a guy I knew, but in all honesty, I don't know that many guys. I didn't even know half the guys at the homeschool dance, so there. I'm not sure why, but I have a sneaky suspicion that I may scare guys off.
That was a good one! Me? Scare guys off? Nawh...however believable that is. I mean, I don't mean to scare boys off, it's just one of my many talents! Yay me! I guess it doesn't really matter, since I know that my future husband will be too stubborn.
Anyway, I'm probably boring you funny little nerds out of your wits! Literally, get it? So I'll leave you with this note to girls:
Don't ask guys to dance. Period.
