I relax my jaw.
My breaths are deep and even. As I check my balance I forget everything else and focus on the task at hand.
My hand trembles slightly.
I take one feel breath, and release.
Thwunk,
The arrow strikes the target. Appreciative applause from my dad and my uncle fill the yard.
I was never the tomboy in my family. Growing up I was always classified as a girly girl, or a city girl. of course this is probably because I was homeschooled, and didn't meet many ordinary girls.
In reality I'm really more the tomboy type. I loved climbing trees, swimming, exploring and adventuring- I don't even car when my jeans get muddy! I run into the rain dancing and singing with my mother calling me to come in all the while.
Don't get me wrong- I hate bugs, I dress like a girl, and I wear makeup.
But I'm also a ninja, a nerd, and I know different landscapes of Middle Earth, the land of Faerie, Wonderland, Neverland, Oz, Narnia, and more.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't put someone in a box because they seem a certain way at a given time. Everyone has various gifts, talents, and interests.
You have more in common with that kid next door than you might think.
Everyone deserves a chance to show off what they're really like inside.
Don't be afraid to show off your talents or interests, because God made you specially- and he loves you. Anyone who has half a brain will see this too.
I won't wish you luck, because you won't need it to be you,
But be confident.
You'll be surprised what can happen when you try.
